Revolutionary Center Revitalizing South Jersey in Williamstown

(PRWeb) December 16, 2006 -- On December 17th, 2006, St. Matthew's Baptist church will reveal its thirty-two thousand square foot recreation facility, housing a state-of-the-art fitness center, tennis courts and Junior Olympic size pool. The recreation center will offer diversified programs that will encourage health and wellness to residents of the surrounding communities.

To commemorate this opening and the festivities, there will be a dedication service followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony. The dedication service will have a special performance by a local fire department bagpipe band. The Williamstown high school band will perform at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. In addition, a New Jersey state police helicopter will make an exciting landing near the festivities. Guests will include numerous dignitaries, such as mayors, representatives of the Governor's office, area residents, and members of St. Matthew's Baptist church. After the dedication service and ribbon-cutting ceremony, there will be a tour of the new facility. The dedication service will begin at St. Matthew's Baptist Church at 10:15 AM, followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony to begin at 12 PM. St. Matthew's Baptist Church and the community development recreation center is located at 245 Glassboro Road in Williamstown, New Jersey.

The St. Matthew's recreation center will welcome the community into a safe, godly environment that will inspire a positive change in health and wellness by generating awareness and providing motivation. The center will promote health, nutrition and fitness with programs that include: boxing, personal training, sports conditioning, aerobics, indoor cycling, learn to swim, aqua size and more -- all under the watchful eye of Lovell Gardenhire. St. Matthew's Baptist Church was founded in 1924 with a mission to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to encourage the cultivation of a personal relationship with him. Under the direction of Dr. Raymond M. Gordon, its Pastor since 1987, St. Matthew's has grown to more than 7,000 members throughout the region, with three services per week and over 50 ministries.
